“What do you miss about Sicily?” “The sound of the sea”

“What do you miss about Sicily?” “The sound of the sea”

Anyone who has been even once to Sicily knows very well what the great Andrea Camilleri means with his quote. It is that nostalgia that someone calls “Sicily sickness”: a force that leads anyone who was born there or has traveled there to return and return again.
Resolution of the day: Imagine the sea in front of your eyes, wherever you are.

'U scrusciu du' mari e' u rrumuri chi faci quandu struzza 'a scugghjiera e ca' rrina s'abbasa.

E' comu na' beddrha buttigghjia 'i spumanti
chi parti ca' bbotta e nesci frizzanti.
E' carmu e duci quandu
tuttu e'tranquillu, grida
e schiumia se si sciarria
cu' ventu.
'U scrusciu du'mari e' 'u rrumuri du cori chi batti
'nta terra chi criau 'u Signuri.
E' 'a vuci da' genti chi campa
o campau chi gioie e duluri
'o mari cunfidau.
'U scrusciu du mari t'incanta
la menti, ti dici c'avita e' sempri m'urtanti.
'N'ciudici e poeti, 'n'ciudici a l'amanti.
